That’s an interesting statement:

“I want to see how many people will be driven to the site without a journalist.”

Isn’t it marketing that drives most people to a site? Your pitch is a marketing call, not a journalistic one. The best way to make it bigger than Soup is to write about it in the Sagebrush, put up posters, send emails — that’s all PR. So much of this online work crosses over into participation, that under the old rules would be considered public relations and therefore not something a ‘real’ journalist would stoop to. But you can’t build a community without being a part of it. (She says, working on a Hispanic site at Tahoe…where I’m not part of either community.) This is all one grand set of experiments.

Sometimes I want to stop ninging enough to read and think about what this all means. On the other hand, we are being true Deweyans by doing to learn.

I love “ningness.”
